About Dr. Mesa-Jimenez
I am a South Florida-based licensed psychologist that currently provides individual therapy services for individuals across the lifespan. I provide my clients with a safe, compassionate, and therapeutic environment where they can blossom. I am committed to treating and encouraging independence and empowering self-discovery with adults, teens, and adolescents who struggle with anxiety, depression, adjustment, mood instability, life transitions and coming of age.

I apply a blended evidenced-based approach of cognitive-behavioral techniques, exposure and response prevention, interpersonal therapy, psychodynamic, and brief solution focused therapy. My approach to treatment is a collaborative one and it’s a space where the client is free to discuss any topics that they wish to cover. I support my clients and help them understand their unrewarding thinking or communicating styles while fostering change that will help the client improve their quality of life.

I graduated from and received my clinical training at Nova Southeastern University where I served a multicultural population. I was provided the opportunity to conduct long-term individual therapy as well as psychoeducational evaluations. Having been raised in South Florida has offered me the opportunity to serve both English and Spanish speaking clients.

I completed my Pre-Doctoral Internship and Post-Doctoral fellowship at Citrus Health Network, Inc. where I provided individual and group therapy as well as psychoeducational testing. I conducted inpatient and outpatient services for adults, adolescents, and children suffering from various mental illnesses including but not limited to schizophrenia, major depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, adjustment disorders, coming of age and substance dependence. Additionally, I completed inpatient evaluations for children and adolescents struggling with substance use. I also performed a wide range of psychological assessments which included intelligence, projective and objective measures, developmental and learning difficulties for school-aged children and young adults.

In my practice I hold sessions in both English and Spanish. I am LGBTQ+ inclusive and my pronouns are she/her/hers. I accept insurance plans including Aetna, Cigna, United healthcare, Oxford and Oscar.
